The main species of spider we stock is the Chile Rose tarantula. Their relative docile nature makes them easy to handle and maintain, and so makes them the ideal spider for any novice keeper. 
The female tarantula can live up to 25 years, which most people find very surprising. The shedding process that these tarantulas go through is always a marvellous time to observe (as well as other spiders alike), as they break open their abdomen and steps out of their exoskeleton, leaving what looks like another spider.
